Jump up, jump up and get down

Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin...House of Pain, anyone?  The trampoline is a great addition to the McLean's backyard!

The envelope please...

As you can see in the pic above, I'm 21 weeks pregnant (and feeling great, by the way...so much better than the first time around).  21 weeks, you say?  Well, then you must know what you're having!  Nope.  The doctor knows but all we know is the gender of our second child lies inside of this sealed envelope we're holding.  It was Jer's brilliant idea to wait until the actual delivery to find out what #2 is and I finally conceded.  We still reserve the right to change our minds (as evidenced by the envelope) but it looks like we're going to hold out.  Now, the tough part is coming up with a boy AND girl name.  Any suggestions?

Back to the pool

After our hike (and naps), we headed up to Marymount to enjoy the 90 degree pool.  Yes, please!

Grandpa comes to town

Grandpa came to visit this last weekend...a great time had by all!  Here are some pics of our hike at Rattlesnake Canyon.  As you can see, Molly loved her first ride in the backpack.  And it didn't hurt that Grandpa was sneaking her licks of his lollipop at the back of the line!

Converse

We made a quick trip down to Camarillo today to have lunch with Martha, Norma, and Augie.  Molly and Augie both got their first pair of Converse.  Augie has officially passed up Molly in shoe size.  So fun to see you guys!

Purple

I think it's a great color for both of them...don't you agree? :)

The Dirty Apron

I got the best birthday present from Jer's family...2 cooking classes at The Dirty Apron.  It was a full evening of cooking and eating without having to clean up a thing.  Perfect.  I went to Mamma Mia with Emily where we learned to make homemade goat cheese ravioli with walnut sage butter, lamb with gnocchi, and lemon panna cotta.  2 nights later, Jer and I went to Ocean Potion where we made mussels with a spicy tomato broth (my absolute favorite!), maple seared scallops with chorizo and pea coulis, pan seared halibut with harissa potatoes, and cardamom poached pears.  Wow...both were amazing meals.  I'm happy to recreate here at home if anyone wants to come on over!

Aquarium

Molly loved the touch tanks at the Vancouver Aquarium...she only wished they were swimming pools.

Birds and Dogs

2 of Molly's most favorite things as of late.  She lights up and is quick to point out anytime she sees a bird or a dog, usually with an excited "bir" or "da".

Ballerina?

Molly already seems to be on point.  Watch out So You Think You Can Dance!

Vancouver

We had a great time in Vancouver for the past 2 weeks.  It was so nice to spend time with family...Molly certainly was not lacking for love or attention!  As usual, we ate our way through the city.  Molly enjoyed her first sushi experience (nothing raw yet), dim sum, fish & chips, and ice cream, of course.  She's turning out to be a true Hui!
